Rugby World Cup Update!!!
Here is an update for the 2011 Rugby World Cup, taking place in New Zealand.
P=Played; W=Won; D=Draw; L=Lost; PF=Points For; PA=Points Against; TF=Tries For; TA=Tries Against; BP=Bonus Points; PTS=Points
Pool A
New Zealand is dominating Pool A! They are my favorites for this tournament. I do not think there is a team that can match there offensive skills and defensive aggressiveness.
Team | P | W | D | L | PF | PA | TF | TA | BP | PTS |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
![]() New Zealand | 3 | 3 | 0 | 0 | 161 | 34 | 24 | 4 | 3 | 15 |
![]() France | 3 | 2 | 0 | 1 | 110 | 77 | 12 | 8 | 2 | 10 |
![]() Tonga | 3 | 1 | 0 | 2 | 61 | 84 | 6 | 12 | 1 | 5 |
![]() Canada | 2 | 1 | 0 | 1 | 44 | 66 | 4 | 6 | 0 | 4 |
![]() Japan | 3 | 0 | 0 | 3 | 46 | 161 | 6 | 22 | 0 | 0 |
Pool B
Though England is in the lead, Pool B is still up for grabs. Both Argentina and Scotland both have strong sides and I cannot wait to see who comes out on top.
Team | P | W | D | L | PF | PA | TF | TA | BP | PTS |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
![]() England | 3 | 3 | 0 | 0 | 121 | 22 | 17 | 1 | 2 | 14 |
![]() Argentina | 3 | 2 | 0 | 1 | 65 | 33 | 7 | 2 | 2 | 10 |
![]() Scotland | 3 | 2 | 0 | 1 | 61 | 43 | 4 | 3 | 2 | 10 |
![]() Georgia | 2 | 0 | 0 | 2 | 16 | 56 | 1 | 6 | 0 | 0 |
![]() Romania | 3 | 0 | 0 | 3 | 35 | 144 | 3 | 20 | 0 | 0 |
Pool C
The Irish have proven game after game why they have remained one of the best teams in the world. I cannot wait to see how they do in the elimination round. On a side not, the US has played hard and displayed why they belong in the rugby world cup.

Pool D This is another tight pool. Even though RSA won the cup last time around, I'm still not sure about them. If they take this pool I will have a bit more faith.

Why Globe Span?...The Origin
September 30, 2011-Marseille, France
I can still remember September 30, 2010 as I sat in the common room of Alotra, the dorm I was staying in. It had been 30 days since I first landed in Marseille, France for a semester abroad program. Earlier that year I had decided to attend Euromed School of Management located in south of France as a requirement for my French degree. I can remember feeling a strong level of comfort as I sat chatting with some friends. There was Badr from Morocco, Tamar and Amr from Palestine, Dave from India, Tom from England, Sven from Germany, Emann from Holland, Lewis from Scotland, Ludo, Alex, and Dave from French Canada, and Theo from the US.
What were we talking about? Politics? Religion? No, we talked about how much fun we had the night
before, which girls we thought we the most attractive, and how we had too much to drink. Who would of thought a group of Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Capitalist, Communist, Eastern, and Westerners could sit down not as people from different nations but as friends. At that moment I realized that if more people had the opportunity to sit down and get to know people as individuals people would realize that they are not too different.
I want this blog to be a place where people from different place can come together like the common room in Alotra and share different ideas.
C'est un video de Euromed Ecole de Management. Sorry I could only find this video in french but I did find a great interview in english.
